Brazilian composer and multi-instrumentalist of JZ Club’s big bands, Tinho Periera releases debut solo album ‘Hand Made’ features many of the most renowned jazz musicians in Shanghai. The album was recorded over several years, reflects the many colors of Tinho’s experience. It’s jazz, it’s Latin, it’s classical, it’s funk, and all shades of beautiful music.”

Brazilian composer and multi-instrumentalist Pereira has been the resident bassist for JZ Club’s big bands since 2006, winning the admiration of his peers and making a name for himself as the most venerated Latin musician in Asia.

Pereira’s proficiency as a songwriter and performer began on the acoustic guitar at the age of six.  One year later he began his classical guitar studies at the Villa Lobos Conservatory of Music, and he continued his studies five years later at the Dr. Carlos de Campos Conservatory, specializing in electric bass.  By the age of twelve Pereira was performing in bars, nightclubs and ballrooms all over South America, cooperating with many Brazilian masters.  He left for festival stages in Italy, Northern Europe, Hong Kong and Hawaii, finally settling in Shanghai with his wife and son, where he has been based ever since.
